Dear colleagues,

The University of Antwerp is recruiting for two full-time PhD studentships in Literary Studies and Digital Humanities.

The Centre for Manuscript Genetics, part of ACDC (the Antwerp Centre for Digital humanities and literary Criticism), builds on a long tradition of literary research at the University of Antwerp while taking the field’s more recent developments into account by applying digital tools and methodologies to humanities research. ACDC hosts the Beckett Digital Manuscript Project (www.beckettarchive.org<http://www.beckettarchive.org/>), which was recently awarded the MLA Prize for a Bibliography, Archive, or Digital Project in 2019.

A team of PhDs and postdocs at the Centre will collaborate in the creation, launch and curation of a digital scholarly edition of James Joyce’s library and unpublished correspondence. They will interrelate this material to Joyce’s biography and oeuvre. The PhD candidates will write dissertations in the area of literary studies and DH.

Full details are available here<http://www.uantwerpen.be/en/jobs/vacancies/ap/2019bapdocproex220/> on the University of Antwerp jobs website.

Applications should be made online before the closing date of Sunday 11 August 2019 (Central European Time) and should include a CV and cover letter.

For questions about the positions, please contact Prof Dirk Van Hulle, dirk.vanhulle at uantwerpen.be<mailto:dirk.vanhulle at uantwerpen.be>, or Dr Ronan Crowley, ronan.crowley at uantwerpen.be<mailto:ronan.crowley at uantwerpen.be>.
