*Visiting Assistant Professor of English*
The Department of English of Muhlenberg College seeks a full-time, one-year
replacement appointment for a Visiting Assistant Professor of English to
teach both established and special topics courses in 20th & 21st century
American fiction as well as a first-year seminar. 3/3 courseload,
competitive salary, recent Ph.D. preferred; starting date is August 2017.

Candidates should have a serious commitment to teaching and a demonstrable
knowledge of representative works and figures in the field. They should
also be capable of addressing newly-emergent forms and formats of
contemporary fiction-making, and evolving networks of literary
distribution. In addition to a letter of application, candidates should
include a CV; three letters of reference; a brief (10-20 page) writing
sample; a statement describing experiences with and commitment to
diversity, equity, and inclusiveness; and a single page description of a
course s/he would particularly like to teach at Muhlenberg, possibly
informed or inspired by the candidate’s ongoing research and writing
