Dear Colleagues,

Please join the Modernism Seminar of the Mahindra Humanities Center at
Harvard on Wednesday, April 27, at 6:00 p.m. to hear Hannah Freed-Thall
present at our last spring session:

*Newspaper Modernism:Media Aesthetics from Proust to Woolf*

The presentation will take place in Barker 133.
*Hannah Freed-Thall,* assistant professor of Comparative Literature at
Brown University, specializes in comparative modernisms and modern French
literature and theory. She has held a Cotsen Postdoctoral Fellowship in the
Princeton Society of Fellows and a Joukowsky Postdoctoral Fellowship in the
Brown University Pembroke Seminar, "Aesthetics and the Question of Beauty." Her
first book, *Spoiled Distinctions: Aesthetics and the Ordinary in French
Modernism*, was published in 2015 by Oxford University Press.

There is free parking near the HHC at the Broadway Garage, on Felton
between Broadway and Cambridge Street. Just tell the attendant that you're
participating in an event at the HHC. Normally the attendant is welcoming,
as long as it's after 5:00 p.m., even if we are erroneously not on the good
list.

We hope you'll be able to attend the session, which, as always, includes
discussion after the presentation.

Details about the Center, including a calendar of events, are available at:

Best wishes,
