Please join the Modernism Seminar of the Mahindra Humanities Center at
Harvard on Thursday, December 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. for to hear Patrick Mullen

*The Modernist Re-imagining of Collectivity*

The presentation will take place in Room 403 of Boylston Hall, which is
close to the Mahindra Center. Here is a map showing the location:

Ave across from Holyoke Street.

*Patrick Mullen*, Associate Professor of English at Northeastern
University, is the author of *The Poor Bugger’s Tool: Irish Modernism,
Queer Labor, and Postcolonial History* (Oxford, 2012). He has also
published articles on Edith Wharton, James Joyce, and Roger Casement in *Novel,
Critical Quarterly*, and *Public Culture*. His interests include modernism,
the history of the novel, critical theory, queer theory, Irish studies, and
film. He currently serves on the editorial board for *Signs*. He is working
on a manuscript that addresses representations of managers and management
in modernist fiction.

There is free parking near the HHC at the Broadway Garage, on Felton
between Broadway and Cambridge Street. Just tell the attendant that you're
participating in an event at the HHC. Normally the attendant is welcoming,
as long as it's after 5:00 p.m., even if we are erroneously not on the good

Wed, 30 March, 6-8 pm:  David James (Queen Mary, U of London), “Modernist
Life-Righting: Elegy as Redress, from Conrad to Coetzee” (Warren House, Rm
201 [Kates Room])

Wed, 27 April, 6-8 pm: Hannah Freed-Thall (Brown), Title TBA (Barker 133)
