Dear all

Forgive me announcing the publication of my new book Katherine Mansfield and
the Art of the Short Story (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015). This book replaces an
earlier edition printed by Kakapo Books, London in 2008. This new edition
has been considerably revised and expanded to reflect recent scholarship and
new editions of KM¹s work. It offers an overview of KM¹s stories and her
artistic techniques for both the scholar and non-scholar alike. It is
available in print form and as an ebook. It¹s perfect for undergraduate and
MA teaching!

The book offers an overview to the short stories of Katherine Mansfield,
discussing a wide range of her most famous stories from a number of
different perspectives. Clearly categorised into a number of subheadings,
the volume elaborates on Mansfield's themes and techniques, thereby guiding
the reader, via close textual analysis and the use of multiple differing
critical appraisals, to an understanding of the author's modernist
techniques. Suitable for the scholar and lay reader alike, it opens a window
into the workings of Mansfield's craft in a lucid and direct way.

The book also contains a wonderful introductory essay by Claire Davison,
Professor of Modernism, Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris.
