"WoolfOnline: To the Lighthouse" has just been launched at woolfonline.com<http://woolfonline.com/>.

The project combines traditional scholarly research with new electronic techniques of representation and navigation in order (1) to create an electronic edition of

To the Lighthouse (1927) that shows each stage of its composition, from draft to typescripts to proofs to publication in the UK and US, linking these versions through marked-up transcriptions, and (2) to embed this edition in a series of contextualizing histories.

The WoolfOnline project, supported by a National Endowment for the Humanities Scholarly Edition Grant, is built on the back of a pilot project that focused on the "Time Passes" section of the novel and incorporated some 900 records (images and texts). The current project covers the entire novel and contains over 4150 records. It uses Mojulem, a new Content Management System designed for this project, that is specifically for literary textual archives and editions.
