Dear Colleagues,

Please join the Modernism Seminar of the Mahindra Humanities Center at
Harvard on Thursday, 29 March, at 6:00 p.m. for a talk by Lisa
Siraganian:

“Wyndham Lewis, Virginia Woolf, and the

Redness of the Real Red”

The presentation will take place in Room 133 of the Barker Center.

Lisa Siraganian is a post-doctoral fellow at the American Academy of
Arts & Sciences and a member of the English Department at Southern
Methodist University. She is the author of Modernism’s Other Work: The
Art Object’s Political Life (
http://www.oup.com/us/catalog/general/subject/LiteratureEnglish/AmericanLiterature/20thC/?view=usa&ci=9780199796557
) (Oxford UP, 2011) and of essays on twentieth-century literature, art,
and film that have appeared in Modernism/Modernity, American Literary
History, The William Carlos Williams Review, and Diaspora, among other
journals and collections. Her talk is related to her current work in
progress on “Technicolor Textuality: Corporate Aesthetics, Literature,
and Experiential Color in Late Modernism, 1930-1970.”

There is free parking near the HHC at the Broadway Garage, on Felton
between Broadway and Cambridge Street. Just tell the attendant that
you're participating in an event at the HHC. Normally the attendant is
welcoming, as long as it's after 5:00 p.m., even if we are erroneously
not on the good list.

We hope you'll be able to attend the session, which, as always,
includes discussion after the presentation.

The final session of the Modernism Seminar for the spring term will
feature:
Stephen Regan (Durham University), Wednesday 18 April, 6:00 p.m. on
"Naturalism and Impressionism at the Fin de Siècle: George Moore's
Esther Waters"

Details about the Center, including a calendar of events, are available
