The Role

The School of English wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Modernist Literature from 1st September 2012. The successful candidate will have an established research profile and experience in teaching at University level. S/he will contribute to the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in Modernist literature and culture by teaching seminar groups, offering lectures, and convening modules. S/he is also expected to make a contribution to the research culture of the School and where appropriate to play a full and active role in the Centre for Modern Poetry and the Centre for Modern European Literature, by (for example) contributing to research seminars, organising poetry readings or conferences, participating in or leading reading groups, and offering MA modules. S/he is expected to have a strong interdisciplinary interest and have a full complement of 3* or 4* publications ready for submission at REF 2014. S/he should have research interests which reflect current developments in scholarship, and research which contributes to the development of new fields, has a significant archival component, or has inter-linguistic and transnational dimensions, is desirable.
