REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE “CULTURE AND THE CANADA-US BORDER” WORKSHOP.
Full details and the registration form are available on our website: http://www.kent.ac.uk/ccusb/events/london.html
Tuesday, September 18th: Indigeneity, Hemispherism, and the Arts
The "Culture and the Canada-US Border” Network (CCUSB) will be teaming up with the Native Studies Research Network for a two day London colloquium, in the Torrington Room, Senate House.
CCUSB is a Leverhulme Trust funded network, designed to bring together scholars in Europe and North America with research interests in cultural issues around the Canada-US Border. Our series of workshops and conferences will be launched with this inaugural event in London.
The workshop will feature presentations and discussion from Dylan Robinson (RHUL), Padraig Kirwan (Goldsmiths), James Mackay (European University of Cyprus), and Catherine Bates (Huddersfield University). These talks will focus on aspects of Indigenous culture and politics relating to the Canada-US border and/or Canada and the US in comparative perspective.
The work of NSRN members will be showcased on Wednesday 19th.
Cost: £20.00 a day or £30.00 for both days.
Please note: a very small amount of travel assistance for postgraduate students will be available on a first-come first-served basis to attend the CCUSB event on the Tuesday. Contact David Stirrup (dfs at kent.ac.uk) for further details. Regrettably, this money cannot be used to attend the NSRN day only.
Deadline for registration: Monday 3rd September
You can contact CCUSB at kent.ac.uk<mailto:CCUSB at kent.ac.uk> with any queries.
