Limited-Term Appointment, Modern British Literature

The Department of English of the Faculté des arts et des sciences of the Université de Montréal invites applications to fill a full-time 10-month appointment in the field of Modern British literature with an emphasis on poetry.
The successful candidate will teach in the Department’s programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, will support and advise graduate students, will participate in department committees, and will be actively engaged in research. The teaching load is 2/2.
As well as breadth of expertise in the principal field, candidates should have interests in one or more secondary areas: Irish literature, Early Modern literature, literary theory, feminist and gender studies, film and cultural studies, new media.
Qualifications for this position include a completed Ph.D., a proven research record, strong evidence of teaching ability, and a working knowledge of French.
The appointment will be made for the period August 15, 2010 to June 15, 2011.
