INTERDISCIPLINARY TEACHING OF MODERNISM(S)

In recent years the study of modernist literature has undergone an importan=
t transformation through the new modernist studies, a set of approaches cen=
trally informed by interdisciplinary work and recent developments in litera=
ry and cultural theory, including approaches that draw from other areas of =
social life and intellectual culture (such as architecture, medicine, socio=
logy, design, geography, the visual or plastic arts, dance, filmm music, op=
era, etc.).=A0 While wonderful original scholarship on canonical or non-can=
onical modernist authors, texts, and contexts has already come out of these=
intellectual encounters, not much has been written or said on these develo=
pments as a potential treasure trove for teachers.=A0 This panel seeks pape=
rs that centrally address concrete interdisciplinary teaching ideas for the=
undergraduate or graduate classroom, and develop a pedagogical rationale f=
or specific courses, texts, or teaching sequences to be shared with
 the audience.=A0 =
